PROGRAM

COME JOIN US for a fun, scenic, and sometimes spirited springtime tour.  Our tour will include:

  • visits to two bluebonnet fields,

  • lunch at Cooper's BBQ in Llano,

  • a stroll down Main Street in Fredericksburg

  • Blue Bell ice cream at an old-fashioned ice cream parlor, and

  • spirited driving on five of The Tourmaster's most-favorite roads in the hill country.

Start Location:  This is a semi-private event. To avoid unwanted attention, the start location will be announced via email to registered drivers a few days before the event.  (Hint: It will be in southwest Austin)

Driver Notes will be handed out at Driver Meetings.

Sunday, March 26

 

Part 1 - To Cooper's BBQ

7:27 AM   Sunrise

7:30 AM   Social starts

7:50 AM   Drivers Meeting (MANDATORY; there will be a roll call)

8:00 AM   Review first set of driver notes

8:10 AM   Group photos

8:20 AM   Saddle up! Ladies and gentlemen! Start your engines!

8:22 AM   Radio test

8:30 AM   Depart Start Location

9:15 AM   Visit bluebonnet field (30 minutes)

  • Scenic and thrilling hill country roads (two of The Tourmaster's most-favorite roads)

10:50 AM  Arrive at Cooper's BBQ

                  (lunch not included in prices)

Length of Tour To Llano = 83 miles

Part 2 - Llano To Fredericksburg (optional)

12:30 PM   Depart Cooper's BBQ

  • Visit second bluebonnet field (40 minutes)

  • Restroom stop in remote hill country town

  • Scenic and thrilling hill country roads (three of The Tourmaster's most-favorite roads)

2:10 PM   Arrive in Fredericksburg

Length of Tour To Fredericksburg = 80 miles

2:15 PM   Pleasant stroll down lively Main Street

2:30 PM   Visit old-fashioned ice cream parlor for Blue Bell ice cream

Afterwards, you can stay and explore Fredericksburg or join The Tourmaster as he leads the group back to Austin (see Part 3 below.)

Part 3 - Drive Back to Austin (optional)

3:45 PM   Depart Fredericksburg

5:00 PM   Arrive Austin

Length of Tour Back To Austin = 78 miles

For your safety, you are REQUIRED to bring a functioning FRS/GMRS radio.  Your radio must pass the radio check at the start of the event.

Please note that for this run a Technical Inspection is NOT required and there is no tire inspection before the tour. So, for this tour, please disregard the sections in the Participant Guide pertaining to the Technical Inspection (#23) and tire inspection at the event (#24).

2. REFUNDABLE SAFETY DEPOSIT (per car)  --  $104  ($100 is refundable)

   If you are one of the 40+ people who already have a Safety Deposit on file (you know who you are), do NOT send a Safety Deposit.

 

THE REFUNDABLE SAFETY DEPOSIT IS TO:

-  Motivate participants to be present on-time at the mandatory check-ins, vehicle inspection, radio check, and drivers meetings and arrive equipped with a working FRS radio.

-  Motivate participating drivers to complete the tour by following all the driving rules outlined in the Participant Guide.

 

Every participant who follows all the rules listed here and elsewhere (see above, Participant Guide and Terms & Conditions) will receive A FULL REFUND OF THEIR SAFETY DEPOSIT.  Please read the Terms & Conditions regarding the Registration Fee, Safety Deposit, refunds, cancelling or transferring your registration, and many other topics.

3. HIGH-POWER (8 WATT) BAOFENG HANDHELD RADIO (OPTIONAL) (LINK)

with 22 FRS/GMRS channels pre-programmed:  $85

The Tourmaster will purchase this radio brand new and program all 22 FRS and GMRS channels for you.  The new radio will be assembled, charged, programmed, and ready for your use at the start of the event, and you can take it home afterward with its original box and accessories.
